The Perennial Plant Association (PPA) is dedicated to improving the perennial plant industry by providing education to enhance the production, promotion and utilization of perennial plants.  Each year members cast their vote for an outstanding perennial to become the 'Plant of the Year' which must meet the following criteria:   Suitable for a wide range of climate types,  Low maintenance needs,  Easily propagated - true from seed or vegetatively propagated, and Exhibiting multiple seasonal interest.
