Why you need this plant: Put into cultivation in 1858, this is one of the oldest large-flowered varieties available today. It is the most popular white, with pristine white petals and brown tipped stamens. The bright white flowers shine against the leathery, dark green leaves. | ||
| Planting Info: Clematis are notoriously heavy feeders and require a rich, organic soil for robust growth. Although slow to start, once established the Clematis will provide years of enjoyment and bloom. Do not cut back in late fall as new growth will sprout from old wood in spring. At Red Barn, our Clematis are two years old, grown at our nursery for hardiness, with a trellis included. | ||
