Tiarella

'Elizabeth Oliver'

Common Name:
Foamflower
Bloom color:
Light Pink
Height:

6"

Bloom:
Spring, again late summer
Hardiness:
Zone 5-7
Light:
Full to partial shade
Soil:
Evenly moist, well drained high in organic matter

Why you need this plant:      Pink flowers contrast nicely with red markings on the deeply lobed foliage. Makes a great ground cover for shade.

Planting Info:       Foamflowers thrive in any area with partial to full shade and a moist soil, but will tolerate brief periods of drought.  In the fall, cut the stems down to the base but leave the foliage to protect new buds that will appear in spring.  Fertilize in early spring before early growth comes on and mulch with manure or leaf mold to contribute to the humus rich soil that foamflowers crave.
