Why you need this plant:        Succulent, thick, blue-green leaves on stiff upright stems that end with coppery-pink, broccoli-head flowers. Over several weeks, the flowers open rosy-pink, deepen to salmon, gradually change to rust and finally a rich brown. A finalist for the Perennial Plant of the Year 2000.

 
Planting Info:       Fertile, porous soil is preferred; however some types are extremely robust and will grow in most soil types.  Propagate from seed in spring or fall or by division or cuttings in spring through mid-summer.
