Why you need this plant:   Picture Fountain Grass a foot shorter, and you have Pennisetum 'Hameln'. A very popular grass for mass groundcover planting. Compact and maintenance free.

 
Planting Info:       Best in moist, well-drained soil, but tolerates other sites too.  Acidic to alkaline soils.  Tolerates dry spells, but the leaves may get pale and curl up.  Cut back old foliage in early spring, especially if planted with bulbs.  Divide every 5-6 years if center dies out.  May self-sow.  Grow from seed or propagate by division.
