Common Name:
Rose Mallow
Bloom color:
Red
Height:
4'
Bloom:
July-Sept
Hardiness:
Zone 4-9

Full Sun
Soil:
Moist, humus rich soil

Why you need this plant:       Foliage is dark green, almost purple.  Improved Lord Baltimore variety.  Good as a specimen or background plant.

Planting Info:       Prefers a wet soil, the wetter the better with Full Sun. Deadheading is advisable to keep the plant appearance neat and to prolong bloom. Stems are strong and rarely need staking, they may also be left until spring when they need to be trimmed off to stimulate new growth. But take care not to disturb foliage underneath, Hibiscus are late to break dormancy in spring. They are heavy feeders so a good dose of fertilizer is needed in spring to kick start growth.
