| Heuchera 'Frosted Violet'
| | Common Name: | Coral Bells | | Bloom color: | Pink | | Height: | 20"
| | Bloom: | Spring | | Hardiness: | Zone 3-8 | | Light: | Full Sun to Partial Sun | | Soil: | Tolerant of almost any type of soil with good drainage | Why you need this plant: A Primrose Path introduction. This enchanting look in Heuchera foliage combines foliage of deep maroon-purple in the new leaves, with older leaves a deep plum purple with darker veining. Fine hairs on the leaves catch the light giving them a 'frosted' appearance. Colors intensify with cool fall weather. 30" flower scapes. | | | Planting Info: Can be planted in early Spring right up until a month before the first killing frost. Very tolerant of soil conditions, but you may want to amend with compost or slow release fertilizer in early spring for thicker vegetation. Heuchera will suffer from long periods of drought, deep cold or snow-less winters without some protection. Shear off any damaged leaves in early spring to make room for new foliage. | |
