| Hemerocallis 'James Marsh' | | Common Name: | Daylily | | Bloom color: | Red | | Height: | 28" | | Bloom: | Early to mid-season | | Hardiness: | Zone 5 | | Light: | Full Sun - Part shade | | Soil: | Well drained | Why you need this plant: Deep red flowers are up to 6 inches in diameter. | | | Planting Info: Daylilies are the foundation of learning to appreciate perennials. They produce beautiful blooms of many different colors and shades, are fairly drought tolerant. Give new plants a good start with a rich soil, and adequate water. Overwinter by shearing plants to within 6-8" of the ground and mulching over. Clear away mulch once the soil warms to encourage new growth. Do not pinch blooms from daylilies in an attempt to delay flowering; if buds are removed, plants will not bloom that year. | |
