We are currently hiring for spring/summer 2011. Click here for our application. | | | Gaura lindeimeri 'Dauphin'
| | Common Name: | Wand flower, Bee blossom | | Bloom color: | White to Rose-pink | | Height: | 3-5' | | Bloom: | May-Aug | | Hardiness: | 7-10 | | Light: | Full Sun, Part Sun | | Soil: | Well drained - drought tolerant | Why you need this plant: This variety is clump-forming, vase-shaped and growing to 4-5' on rigid stems. An extremely tall plant for the species. Flowers emerge white then turn pink. | | | Planting Info: May self seed but seedlings will be regular green-leafed gauras. Dislikes being divided because the long taproot is too easily broken. Best way to propagate is by stem cuttings. Softwood or semi-hardened cuttings can be rooted spring or summer (assisted with a rooting hormone). Stems will root in four-six weeks. Best started in pots to reduce transplant injury. | |
