Rich, moist soil... but tolerate dry once established

Why you need this plant:        Yellow, butterfly-like flowers on straight stalks.  Evergreen in the South, semi-evergreen in colder climates.  When young, ternate leaves are bronzy, marbled with light green; leaf margins gently scalloped and distinctly spined.

 
Planting Info:        Keep moist until established.  Propagate by division before flowering time or after the foliage matures.  In late winter cut back the dead foliage to expose the new young growth.
