Deutzia gracilis 'Chardonnay Pearls'

- Proven Winners Color Choice Flowering Shrub

Common Name:
Deutzia (shrub)
Bloom color:
White - yellow foliage
Height:
3-4'
Bloom:
May-June
Hardiness:
Zone 5-7
Light:
Full sun to partial shade
Soil:
Adaptable to many soils, moderate moisture

Why you need this plant:        Numerous pearl like buds burst into attractive star shaped flowers in spring. When the flowers have faded, this plant continues to shine with its bright yellow, burn resistant  foliage. Growth is strong but compact to create a wonderful small shrub. Use it with other plants with dark green, blue or purple foliage for contrast.

Planting Info:       Deutzias prefer a sheltered position, moist fertile soil and some sun during the day.  Avoid pruning the previous year's short lateral shoots; thin out canes and shorten some of the thickest old stems after flowering.  Propagate from seed or cuttings in late spring.
