Blue

Height:
6-8"
Bloom:
May-September
Hardiness:
Zone 3-8

Soil:
Rich, well-drained with even moisture

Why you need this plant:        This hybrid between portenschlagiana and poscharskyana makes a great groundcover, blooming from mid-spring well into summer.  Nodding cup-shaped purple-blue flowers.  Tidy habit.  Excellent for walls and crevices, cutting, edging, rock gardens and containers.

Planting Info:       Encourage rebloom by cutting flower stems out after blooming.  Deadheading will prolong bloom but take care not to remove unopened buds on the same stem.  Foliage does not need to be pruned down in preparation for winter.  The green color will last through most of the winter and usually needs no cleanup in the spring.
