Camassia leichtlinii

Common Name:
Camas lily
Bloom color:
Lavender-Blue
Height:
24-30"
Bloom:
May-June
Hardiness:
4-8
Light:
Full Sun
Soil:
Moist

Why you need this plant:        The Camassia is a bulb with grasslike leaves sending up slender purple, star shaped flower spikes in spring.  Good for moist, meadowlike areas.  Will naturalize.  Plant over with other later blooming wildflowers as foliage dies back in early summer.

Planting Info:       Best placed in areas where they can naturalize and won't be disturbed.  They take well to summer dryness as they go dormant by early summer.  Prefer moist soil.
